What was the first year for the "Z71" option on a 3/4 ton?
And by Z71 option, I mean the GMT400 era trucks like these with the Z71 sticker on the side of the truck. I'll be honest, I used to think this was a 1/2 ton-only option, but I've noticed some of the newer trucks (as in, very new 3/4 tons) with the Z71 sticker. Just curious what year the option was first available on a 3/4 ton and when the sticker was first seen on a 3/4 ton. Thanks!

Re: What was the first year for the "Z71" option on a 3/4 ton?
The first year Z71 was offered on a 3/4 ton truck was 2007.
Only Z71 equipped trucks got the stickers from the factory. Some people liked to put the stickers on the side of their trucks(to falsely advertise). |

Re: What was the first year for the "Z71" option on a 3/4 ton?
Thanks, that's kinda what I was thinking (i.e. not until a few eras later), but I've sure seen a slew of 8 lug mid-90's "Z71s" lately around here and on CL... I realize they could be body swaps, but certainly not very likely. Seems like a lot of work to peel off a 4x4 sticker and place a Z71 sticker in its place, ha. Thanks again!
