'68 50th bench seat material/upholstery question?
I recently acquired a '68 50th and am wondering where others are sourcing either the material and/or where they got there seat upholstery?
I've searched the forum, going through many threads, where I see at least someone had their seats redone, (photo from the forum attached) but have been unable to find information on identification/sources for the upholstery itself and/or who might be remaking the seat upholstery/covers. The 2nd photo (again taken from the forum) is someone elses closeup of the comfortweave inset pattern. At a minimum, I am hoping someone at least has a source for the inset material. If so, I may simply have the seats covers made. Thanks in advance for any info, Kevin Anyway, as the truck is today, it's got somewhat of a (definitely not factory) paisley replacement ![]() ![]() Last edited by KevinK7; 05-28-2018 at 12:43 PM. |

SMS auto fabrics has the material at about $100.00 a yard , the vinyl runs $55.00 a yard , Buy the fabric from SMS and have your local auto upholstery shop source the vinyl at $20.00 a yard .

Re: '68 50th bench seat material/upholstery question?
It's just fabric the comfort weave was a vinyl woven type of material there were two types one was used by ford and another tighter woven pattern in the corvette. It was a very strong material and lasted forever SMS now reproduces it , I've heard it takes months if not in stock

Nice!!!
Is that a factory type seat cover? Mine (or what's left of it) is all white, appears to be vinyl. Has a pattern that appears maybe made in a mold, because the material is not the same pattern across the back and bottom areas where passenger is seated... |

I don't know how long ago it was done, but the material looks as if it came from the 70's : ) |
