Cab doors
Hey guy's can anyone help me understand why I have slam my doors so hard for them to close after installing new rubber door seal and new door bumpers. before installing the new rubber door seal the doors closed ever so easy. Are they normally hard to close after installing new rubbers? Did I install them incorrectly? I really have to slam the doors very hard now to closed them. Do I need to leave the doors closed for a few days against the new rubbers will they form into the right position? any help would be great.

This seems to be a common issue. Most just leave truck in sun wiith doors closed for a few days. This seems to help. Problem should go away or at least be tolerable after some time. Nothing you did wrong. I am getting ready to install new seals and will use some made by "soft seal". Some here say problem is at least much less with this brand. I'll post my results soon.

Just put new ones on mine, same thing,they will soften up in time,I also moved my strikers out a little bit,worked really good.

Like Redneck said you can move the striker plates out a little bit. Mark around them with a fine felt tip marker so you can tell how much you have moved them and move them out about 1/16 inch at a time. Don't let them move up or down, just out. LockDoc

I basically just took a 2x4 and hammer and bent the pinch weld in a bit. This was before I put the vinyl on. Took some overall tweeking but doors close and seal good. I probably spent 8 hrs on each door to get them right so it takes some patience.
