You would not drive it daily in the winter on salted roads?

Re: Is It Worth Continuing ?

Thanks for all the replies.

I've decided to continue working on it a little longer.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not doing this to make a dollar.

I like the truck......just want to be careful on how much I put into it.

Re: Is It Worth Continuing ?

70GMcer,

One last thought,

I look at trucks/cars this way, I have to drive something which will require me putting money into something either way, either a new, newer or used vehicle. I drive a 1988 Suburban that I restored as a DD on "non-rain" days to help keep the miles down on my 2002 Excursion. I'm going to put miles on something regardless, might-as-well drive something I enjoy whenever possible.

Make Sense?

Lightbulb Re: Is It Worth Continuing ?

I say keep her just because she's a shorty no one want's a long bed anyway so right there your a 100% ahead of the game. As stated b4 its basically a factory shorty and if you ever sell her just tell the new to be owner it was changed over chances are good he won't care cuz he wants a shorty anyway!!!

As far as the a/c go's Rock Auto has a compressor kit for that truck cheep! factory replacement components Comp, R/D and orifice tube. I didn't ck but I'd bet they have the evap. and the cond. for it too.

I've used vintage AC they are good systems for car that didn't have factory AC. I just think your makin more work for your self goin that route, kinda reinventing the wheel.

I look at it like this it's got a factory a/c system why not use what's already there that stuff is around you just gotta look.

BTW She's a fine lookin Truck.

Good luck.
