bed header bolts
Another thing to consider would be swapping out those header bolts. Chevy used both a hex head bolt and a #3 phillips. If you have the hex head, swap it for a phillips and you'll get a little more room plus no corners to knick the paint. This problem seems to be more prevalent on short beds.
