Jeep steering shaft questions
If i swap over to the 86-95 or whatever jeep Cherokee steering shaft, with the two ujoints, does that give more clearance between the shaft and upper control arm?

Re: Jeep steering shaft questions
Just curious why you want to do this?

Re: Jeep steering shaft questions
Well it replaces the rag joint which can clear up some slop in steering, but I mainly want to do this because I don't have much clearance between the upper controlarm and steering shaft. I read that switching over could give more clearance idk how but just curious if anyone on here has done the swap

Re: Jeep steering shaft questions
Measure the OD of each to know for sure. I did u-joints & new shaft on a 68 (similar, but not the jeep stuff) & there was a slight diff in the OD of the shaft vs the original.

Re: Jeep steering shaft questions
I used a shaft out of a chevy astro van has a u joint on one end that goes right on a 73 end up steering box. it has a slip shaft design also. And the other end will clamp down on the cut of stock shaft. Not sure if it will give ya anymore clearance but works very well.

Re: Jeep steering shaft questions
Would the steering shaft work on a 1967-72 c10 or is this only for the sqare body c10's?
