advice on rear end swap

Will a rear end from an 81 1/2 burb 4x4 fit a 1972 jimmy 4x4. I am wondering if the spring perches are the same width apart, and if the shock mounts are in the same location. they are both 12 bolt with 373 gears thanks HJAlbert

As I just discovered I have a 73 up 12 bolt in the back of my K-10, I can tell you the perches are different as mine were relocated inboard about an inch on each side. The overall width is about 1 1/2" wider also. I'm not sure about the shock mounts.

mounts

When I put a d60 from a 72K5 into My 83K5 both the spring and shock mounts had to be moved. Your 81 has one shock in the front of the axel tube and the other side on the back the older yr trucks had them both in the front.
I'm not sure if you can just move one or not.
