Can someone post photos of the stock seat and tracks in an AD?

Does this help any? I completely disassembled mine. Soaked glides to loosen and clean bearings, repainted and reinstalled. Works great after 65 years!!

Thank you so much, that helps but I still can't see the exact shape of that track. I want to see if I can modify it raising it up in the back so the track can be lowered closer to the floor.

Ok, under stood. FWIW i considered some orig seat mods but beyond my capabilites. Also the way the factory seat is made you might be able to lift rear but lowering front seems problematic. Getting it to slide forward would be interesting. If I had the skill a whole redesign (short of total replacement) would be in order including allowing split backs to fold down. Theres some very skilled folks here, hope some steps up.

Thanks! I can section the riser in the cab lowering it, that's a no brainer. But the runner that the seat bolts to bolts to the bottom of the rear of the riser right at the floor. I think the original runner channel doesn't go down that far but just at the end it bends down and I could straighten it out.

It's so funny you would think I could google it and come up with a photo but all I get are car ones, even when I put truck or pickup in the search. I will find some photos if no one has one here.

I'd pull my seat and send pics BUT the poor thing is still in the shop 70 miles away. Tranny croaked the day i ordered the door emblems. Keep us posted on progress.

I thank you so, so much. That is exactly what I needed to see. I can modify the rear of that track to lower it when the whole top of the riser in the cab is lowered, very cool, thank you again so much.

I also see another thing that now know I will need to modify, the back of the seat. I will have to section that down being it goes up where my rear window now is.

Ok, I have some more work to do, WHOOO HOOO!

Never saw an AD "cable seat adjustment" before. Pulleys and everything. Curious as to why as I Stiil just have the rod.

My truck is a 52 and I'm not sure what year truck I grabbed the seat out of. The seat is actually pretty comfortable for being as old as it is. I'm just going to put some duct tape over the rip for now until I can get it redone down the road.

I followed this cable routing guide on youtube and it worked like a charm.

I endured the duct tape thing for 20+ years. The broken seat spring in the butt deal was the "end" of that.

Yes the seat is all the way in the rear full back position in that picture. With it all the way back the top rail of the seat frame almost touches the back wall of the truck just below the window.

IN pictures 4 & 5 you can see the frame in full back position on how close it is to the back wall.

Right on thanks! All I need to do is weld the portion I have sectioned back in and it's a done deal! I thought I had to do that back crossmember too and this is REALLY good news, I am minutes away from this step in the project being done.

I think both the seat frame and for sure the rear riser help stiffen the cab floor and care might be in order. I added 1" square tubing to my floor as i changed the mount points with the K10 frame. Also added a 3" heavy c channel across front of cab.

Without a doubt I don't want to remove that riser. ESPECIALLY the rear portion that goes across, and there is no need to anyway. I removed the front portion on my last cab 40 years ago, it did weaken the floor. But on the same note, I bolted LeMans bucket seats down and drove it for a few years like that every day and never saw an issue.

This time I sectioned that riser, it's looking good!
