Intake / Exhaust Manifold Gasket. Is there a best?
I installed a REMFLEX #2056 manifold gasket about 5 years ago and that seemed to cure my leaks. (Both intake and exhaust.) Today I got back from my 3rd annual crossing of the Sonora Pass (400 miles and 10K feet of elevation gain) and noticed what sounded like a valve tick. Sure enough, I see where the gasket has started to fail.
My knee jerk reaction is to install another Remflex. Before I do, I'm wondering if anyone has tried anything better. Or is a 5 year run on a GMC 270 about as good as it gets? (Considering I drove it at 55-60mph most of the trip.) Seems to me I blew out FelPro gaskets at regular intervals before someone turned me onto these Remflex units. Thanks, -Steve

I like the Earl's Pressure Master gaskets.
https://www.holley.com/products/gask...arts/29D03BERL The inserts around the ports are replaceable. Edit: I can't find them for the older I6 engines. |
