Used & sorta abused 72 GMC Sierra Custom Camper C20
Been LONG (20yrs maybe) time since a 67-72 3/4t 2wd has been in the family.
One popped up and it followed us to the shop. Nothing special really. More odd than anything. AC, tilt, headliner and big block. Factory rear slider window, cargo lamp and oddly enough handle throttle Weird for a city truck I thought. Has factory aux fuel tank too. 2nd filler neck mounted on bedside near drivers door. Has dealer (Im thinking) added 69-70 cruise control. All GM brackets too. Original SoCal truck but somebody got to it first and made a mess of the roof with bondo and the wiring. Sorted the wiring and runs like a champ which is nice seeing it's been parked since '03. The rest is original paint. It's going to be a pretty much stock daily driver for a pal. I'll post pix as we go if friend is cool with it. One other thing that I thought as odd, it has blue gauge bezel vs straight black or woodgrain. I had a '67 gmc that had same treatment but was plain as plain could get. |

Lots of goodies on that SPID! If you scrub out the license plate, maybe your pal will feel easier about publication of pics.

Re: Used & sorta abused 72 GMC Sierra Custom Camper C20
He's just weird that way...he'll get over it.
It was on CL a few weeks ago. Guy selling it was a clown with lots of false claims. Cool truck besides that. Bought new in Whitter and never left. Had a camper on it it's whole life until few weeks ago. Decent SPID for sure. Hand throttle and aux battery are oddest things to me. Is there a GMC Sierra/Sierra Grande thread anywhere? I looked but didn't really find anything. |

GMCs usually color matched their gauge bezels for some reason.
Post up some more pics, looks like a good one.

I'll get a few more pix next time I have it here. Pretty darn straight.
Not missing anything parts wise. Heat riser plate on drivers manifold is rusted beyond repair. Seat was recovered but going to do new scroll cover for it. Brakes need to be gone thru and fuel system has some bugs. Some rust in cab corner but overall good truck with decent options. Cruise control. The stalk is broken and hanging off the column but it seems to be all there. |
