Drop Kit...Too Many choices

Hi All, wanting to lower my 70 SWB using a drop kit. I have read until I am blue in the face and probably more confused. I was leaning toward the ECE (great member reviews) 2/4 Premium Kit but wanted to go a bit lower. Both CPP and Western Chassis have a premium kit in the 3/5 range, my concern is issues with possible rubbing, changing the geometry and over all ride. Currently has 15x8 rally wheels and 275 60 15R all the way around. I am not inclined to change the spindles or brakes at this time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Call ECE. Talk to them, they are very knowledgeable.

They can probably advise you based on your wants.

I bought my drop components from them 18 years ago..still going strong.

I recently did a total frame off resto, and bought my replacement drop shocks from them as well. Using the same springs and rear shock relocation kit.

I do have plans to bag my truck in the future, but for a static drop I think ECE is the way to go.

The previous owner of my truck lowered my truck with "other" choices and the geometry and ride is all messed up.

I will be fixing the problem with ECE lowering parts. I'm going with drop spindle and 1" drop in the front, drop spring in the rear

It's hard to go wrong with ECE. They have been supporting the 67-72 platform for a long time and have always differentiated themselves with better customer service. They may not be the cheapest but they will do you right.

I put my money where my mouth was and went with their disc conversion on my 69 with the 2 1/2" drop spindles. I did DJM flip on the rear only because ECE didn't offer it.

ECE is the only company I recommend for basic drop kits. I've used another brand and was never happy with their product or customer service. Mark or Stan at ECE have always been willing to step up and make things right or go the extra mile to make sure I'm a satisfied customer.

If your only going 2" up front you shouldn't get a bad ride with just 2" springs. If your concerned with ride use drop spindles. Your A-arm ( lower control arm) will be closer to the ground but shouldn't be a problem and should work fine for 15' Wheels. I have done both on mine. i think if i was you i would just do a 2" drop spring. I have used CPP springs and spindles. I will try ECE or some other well known company next time. As far as having a good ride out back with a 4" drop....good luck! Im still battling that one. If you go with ECE for rear springs let me know how you like them.
