1972 Chevy Cheyenne tailgate and gas pad
I have removed the Chevrolet name plate on back of tailgate. It has the chrome letters with wood grain 3” tape behind it. The letters seem to be “riveted”. How do I remove letters and reattach after putting new tape on?
I can not find a picture of the accelerator rod which should attach to the back of the pedal pad and spring. The end of the rod is a 45 degree angle at end and can not determine how to attach? Thank you for any assistance. Bob |

Re: 1972 Chevy Cheyenne tailgate and gas pad
The flat side of the 45 on the rod is flat against the back of the accelerator pedal. You can install the spring without tension then pry it back and hook it over the rod. Obviously don’t use a screw like I did in the pic, I have temporarily “misplaced “ the correct pin. Good luck!

The pin on the acc. Pedal is about 1/4" diameter, slightly longer than the 2 plastic reinforcemens on back....pin is notched in center holds the spring in place and keeps the pin locked in place.
