Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
I got the engine fired up and almost have it ready for its first test drive. I am just waiting on the adaptor for the alternator.

Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
I've been busy getting the truck in primer and then doing a vinyl wrap on it. I found out that the transmission had a bad repair that messed up the pump and bushing. I am getting close to making my first ice cream sale... The company name is "Aye! Scream"

Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
Any updates on this? Wondering if you had any issues fitting the SBC (i.e. did you have to modify the cab floor or pedals?)? Do you have any pics from the side showing the stance with it aired out? Also, did you end up using any sort of booster for the brakes? TIA for the info. I picked up a '66 step van and am planning on bagging it and tossing a 5.3/TH350 combo in it.

I also had to cut out the floor brace that is under the engine cover. I put the engine and trans in as one piece thru the passenger door. I am almost wishing I put in a non-computer trans and a carb, but I do like this engine/trans so far.

Looks like it turned out great! Were you able to use a factory type power steering box? If not, what did you end up using? And how did you fit the brake booster? Any pics would be greatly appreciated. Here's mine as it currently sits. Hoping to get started on it next month.
