This is my new project
Got this 1967 C20 truck from my dad recently. He purchased it only one year old in 1968. The original owner had the truck painted maroon to match a camper he purchased for the bed.
The truck has the original 327 motor and 400 turbo trans. My dad rebuilt the motor at one point and it has about 10 miles since rebuilt. You will see in the pics of motor that the carburatur linkage is a little redneck engineered. The truck runs, but a little rough. Could someone please tell me what this part is near the carburetor. The white plastic piece snaps on but it is broken and the air seal compromised. Just trying to figure out a part name so I can find a replacement. thanks |

Re: This is my new project
That is the Choke pull-off, pulls the choke open after you start the motor so it won't choke. It's easy to replace, if you don't replace it you have a vacuum leak. You can get replacements from Carbs Unlimited, or possibly at a good autoparts store. http://www.carburetion.com/

Re: This is my new project
&You will need the carb number to get the pull off. It is on driver side on vertical surface, number will start with a "70", should be 7 digits long...
I'm wondering about that piece under the carb??? looks like a carb spacer or adapter? Not sure why it would be needed? Any who, an awesome pickup!!! Congrats! I would be very careful with the fitting that goes into the carb, on those older Q-Jets those threads are very fragile, looks like yours may already been repaired... |
