Well I did my seats last week . They look great but the foam (PUI) is way to hard for my taste . Never used PUI foam question is will it soften with time or should I bite the bullet a tear into them and install ACI foam?

I don't know about the different brands of foam, but would the cover tear easier if it was subject to more stretch by sitting on softer foam? It would essentially put tension on the seams when your a$$ is on it.

These a very stiff I'm actually sitting higher and my line of sight is just below roof windshield rubber. Very annoying at a stop light feel like I'm in a chopped 32 ford . Much stiffer than my Chevelle that I did a few years ago. But I used legendary . The supplied the skins and foam. Which I believe was from american cushion ind.

I have this line of sight problem too. It's one of the more uncomfortable things about driving my truck. I never thought abut the foam in the seat though, even though my seat was clearly re-done by the previous owner. I just figured it was characteristic of these trucks with a bench seat, since I had nothing to compare it to. And I'm by no means tall, 5' 10" on a good day.

I used PUI foam in my sport buckets and I find them a little soft. Sort of wished I put new seat springs too.

Been driving it a few days . Guess my butt is getting used to the foam

.Decided to just make some seat mounts so the seat sits on the floor should gain about 2 inches. I never move the seat anyway so being stationary is no big deal.

I'll post them when I fab them up. Just got back from the Syracuse nationals car shoe. Great weather and the whole nys fairgrounds was packed with cars.

Bench seats are pretty straight forward on any vehicle. Took me about two hours to do. I also had to weld the rail on the back seat bottom. It's just a wire that holds the seat to the frame via the hog clips. Only real problem was the hog clips were a bit to heavy duty. Bought them a tractor supply. Hard to got them closed with upholstery hog clip pliers.

Zip ties work a whole lot better than wrestling with hog rings.

I can't speak to how hard the original foam is, but the line of sight is an interesting one. I have buckets but installed glass with a tinted strip and once I had new upholstery, I looked straight into it, way too high in the cab.

I think we're so used to sitting on clapped out 50 year old seats with compressed foam and even broken or missing springs that we forget they used to sit high originally!

Mine was re-done a few years ago. Always felt very high afterwards, and I felt high-centered. Using the 2 inch lowering brackets, it is much more comfortable.

They are good for getting it started but I don't like using them .
Just doesnt seem permanent.

Mine have been there for years, zero problems, nylon is uber strong not exposed to uv...so not sure what the problem would be using them
