saw a nice blazer with cool side steps at Pomona today

Sure would like to find a set for my blazer as my petite wife always struggles to get up in the blazer. It was a small step about 10 inches wide and looked like it bolted to the frame. I did a search and found Carr brand hoop steps but their catalog does not show first gen blazers.
Does anybody know of a company or a place to get a side step?
(Not a full length rocker bar, just a step. Not electric, just a fixed step)

I also found a company called Bully that makes them but can't seem to find anywhere with an application guide or even a company to contact.

I contacted Carr and they said they don't sell steps to fit a 1972 Blazer. I don't know if they discontinued the product or never offered it. Maybe they are a universal type that is modified or that they fit without the company listing them as fitting the blazer.

Also, are they attached to frame or body?

Universal fit. Brackets are screwed to the rocker boxes. I added a couple extras to be sure.

Although you shouldn't have to worry about it in California, I had a friend in Alaska that had a set of theses on his Blazer and one day while getting in, his foot slipped on it (it had a build up of ice on it), his foot went through the loop as he fell backwards. A month and and half later when he was able to walk again he removed them.

I've been wanting add some to my Blazer as well as my wife and I are "heighth challenged" and I'm not getting any younger

How are they mounted to the rocker boxes?? If screws what size ? Can’t get in there to tighten a nut on the other side

Self-tapping sheetmetal screws. I put in an extra one or two in each bracket to be sure. If the rocker boxes are good, you shouldn’t have a problem. I weigh 246 and use them daily.

You can. You need to remove the rear panel which is bolted on, then you can access the rocker box. Self taping screws will fail over time.

I had the 4x4 shop install mine, he got up in there and added reinforcement to the inside of the rocker box before bolting them in.
