Getting rubber hose off of flush mount fuel filler in bed?

I am still trying to get a plan together for a bed floor fuel filler on Boyd's top fill tank.If I use the flush mount filler that Boyd's sell.I can't imagine how you would ever get the short rubber 2" piece between tank and filler off.If you had to drop the tank down it would have to come loose and it is tight. If you just cut a larger hole in bed and put a door in and use the cap that came with the tank. You could drop tank very easy.

I am able to reach the clamp for the rubber hose on the left side, between the top of the frame rail and the bottom of the bed, with a long screw driver, or better yet, a longer nut driver.
