1969 396 with 3 on the tree
I am the latest owner of a “barn find” 69 C20. It’s very sparsely optioned, only a 396 4bbl motor, leaf springs and a chrome front bumper. This truck has a 3 speed column shift. I’m no expert in the ‘67-‘72 Truck line, but I have never come across a motor/trans combo like this. It’s fun to drive, but was this combination a common thing?

Re: 1969 396 with 3 on the tree
My 68 C-10 had TH400, but also had AC, PB, PS...mine was likely not intended for the heavy duty hauling yours was.
You've got to remember, thinking was way different, back then. Folks ordering and buy this stuff were alive in the depression. Having a pickup with some fancy options was not practical....People were tight with their money. What color? Yours was likely ordered as a pulling farm work truck!!! Thanks for sharing...Cool!!! |
