dual exhaust
Search didn't turn up anything for some reason... Haven't been on the board for a while.
I wan't to improve the exhaust on my 70 and get it all the way out under the back, right now it dumps in front of the rear wheels and I am tired of listening to it! How the heck to duals make it to the rear of these trucks, looks like tight clearances. Pics of the routing would be awesome if anybody has them. Would like to stay with 2 1/4 pipes at least like I have now.

FWIW, I put a set of duals on mine and had the exhaust dump before the rear wheels at 45 degrees. I used a pair of relatively inexpensive Flowtech Afterburners and the noise level is quite tolerable. You have to speak up just a little at a drive-thru, but you can carry on a normal conversation in the cab when the windows are up.

I just installed a JC whitney dual exhaust exits behind the rear wheels. Cleared shocks and transfer case. They have them for 2wd and 4wd.

My exits are pointing straight out about 1.5' in front of the wheels, guess I could grab some 45s and try pointing them back more for a cheap attempt to help it. How is the quality of the JCW system? Is it decent thickness tube? It is aluminized well? How crushed are the bends?

Not crushed at all, very smooth. 2 1/4" pipe aluminized. Made by a company called Heart Throbe in the USA.

There is a nice exhaust set up in the LMC catalog, quite a few members have given them a thumbs up on there pipes...the rest of there parts are pretty much over priced though.

If it isn't to much trouble. If it is a hassle don't worry about it. I haven't been able to look one over that has it and was wondering how it was routed is all.

Here is my 68 C10 LWB with the LMC kit. It took me about 4 hours to install including fully welding every joint. I had my doubt's about the turbo mufflers that came with the kit, but I am more than pleased with the sound!

That LMC kit does look fairly nice. Will have to call and see what it is going for. From the looks of it it has an H pipe to? Is it made for manifolds or headers? I have some good mufflers that are center/offset style that I was hoping to use.

glock35ipsc, I have a question.... how is the clearence up front? I've got a 4/6 drop and I need something that's going to be very close to the frame rails.
If you could, would you get a shot from the side of your truck? thanks

glock35ipsc - If you don't mind telling, how much does LMC get for the kit? Just curious to know how the cost compares to what I paid to have a local muffler shop install mine. The shop put on a set of custom bent, aluminized duals with flow masters for $150. I thought it was a good price, but mainly I just didn't fell like doing the job myself.

in my newest LMC it is $179 with turbo mufflers. They don't show it for pipes only which is kind of a bummer.
