LMC's 'Special" edition 73-80 grill
I was looking on LMC's site for some parts and noticed they now make a "special edition" grill for the 73-80 trucks. It looks really thin and that is what I'm looking for so I can get more room to fit an intercooler behind the grill. Have any of you purchased one of these? If so what are your thoughts on it. I would hate to spend the money on one to find out they are trash. The standard grill is only $40 so I wouldn't feel bad about modifying it if I had to.

Re: LMC's 'Special" edition 73-80 grill
I feel like I've seen something similar stamped out of real metal. Sheet metal anyway, not aluminum extrusions which they incorrectly call billet grills. I had to laugh when I saw that LMC listed "two years in development" as a feature.
I have a phantom grill on a parts truck and it is a very thin unit. Like three quarters of an inch and sits almost flush with the front of hood and fenders. Maybe that's an option? Not a huge fan of screened headlights myself, but it puts your grill bars way out front and could be cut to uncover the headlights. Last edited by LT7A; 08-10-2018 at 01:39 PM. |

Re: LMC's 'Special" edition 73-80 grill
You could buy a billet and buy the emblem they offer for this grille. My billet is only about 1/2-3/4" so should provide alot of clearance for you
But 75-79 grilles are only about 2.5in
