Block Question

I hope to make some progress on the old farm truck tomorrow morning but I have a question I hope someone can help me with. My block has something on the driver side that sticks out a little bit. Looks like a casting flange. My shorty headers are right up against it and I’d like to trim both back a little for clearance. It doesn’t look like it will hurt anything to grind it down a little bit I am hoping someone can confirm this for me.

It won't hurt anything to grind those down a little bit.

Re: Block Question

Or just clearance the headers a bit. Either is fine.
