Side trim install on my 65 LWB
I've been installing some used trim on my 65 the past couple evenings. Going well, looks great, and the dinged up used trim matches the patina of the truck perfectly. Found some satin antique white that is a pretty good match for the cab, too. I've gone through lots of tape... and drilled a lot of holes! I drilled pilot holes, then made the different sizes with a marked step bit.

Re: Side trim install on my 65 LWB
Finished the other side today. Went MUCH faster. Skipped putting tape down for the hole marking, did the marks directly on the body. Also saved a ton of time, didn't bother measuring between the holes like on the factory diagrams, just spaced the holes out. It doesn't matter where the holes are. I then taped the trim upside down and marked the back of the trim for where to place the clips. One more thing: the long bolt on piece on the front fender... you can't put the nuts on the back for the back 1/3 of the fender, there is a brace in the way. So, I drilled those holes larger and used the plastic push in clips like on the door and bed. Worked perfectly. Good pics in the sun tomorrow!

Re: Side trim install on my 65 LWB
Jay, great job. I’m hoping to do the same with mine. I’ve been scouring pick a parts and any leads for trim and I’ve not even found dented up stuff that I can straighten. How did you collect your lwb set, we need way more pieces than the tiny small beds. I hope my truck turns out as well as yours did. Cheers...CousinTone
