Insalling Blazer/Burb Tank Behind the Original Burb Tank?

I just got a polly burb/blazer tank kit from board member "tim m". Great guy and thanks again Tim!

Anyways, I want to install it behind my original Burb tank. Has anyone ever done this? Will it fit? I figured I would ask before I get under there and start measuring things.

I don't know about the poly tank, but some wayback PO of my '67 Suburban had a 16 gallon extra tank installed just after the differential and in front of the rear bumper. It was a leaker by the time got the truck so I didn't use it much. Sometimes on the road I would put hi-test [93 octane] gas in the 2nd tank and switch to it if I thought it needed a boost. Any effect was probably psychological. The tank was originally a military-surplus gunpowder can. It used an electrically switched tank select solenoid and also an electric fuel pump was required to feed the 454 that was in the front. The filler neck for the 2nd tank was just behind the main tank neck, but inside a locking little door. It was neat when it worked right, but since it was a jury-rig to begin with there were problems.

I also have one of those steel aux tanks that I can put right behind my regular tank. I had it blasted, powder coated and it looks great. I just never installed it.

I checked out the polly tank, and it looks like it is going to fit great!!!! Im stoked.

I've always wondered how long a plastic tank is gonna last in our desert summer temperatures? Good luck.
