Power brake petal drop question
I have installed a stock power brake setup on my 68, and I don't have the engine running yet. I have bleed the brakes but the pedal will still go down slowly if I keep pressure on it. Is this normal with power brakes and no vacuum?

Re: Power brake petal drop question
What all changed? Did you just add a booster and master? Do you have the shoes all adjusted to the drums?

Re: Power brake petal drop question
Petal is very firm and doesn't go far down on the initial push, but with continued pressure it moves slowly down to the floor.

Re: Power brake petal drop question
Is it the old master cylinder? That's a symptom of a bypassing piston, which indicates that it should be replaced or rebuilt.

Brand new. Its a 1 1/8" bore for power brakes. Took off my 1" bore manual brake master to install it.

Re: Power brake petal drop question
The fluid is going somewhere. It's either bypassing inside the master or there is a leak somewhere.

Re: Power brake petal drop question
I agree not right. Should hold up longer than your leg will. Either a leak in the system or a bad master cylinder
