Re: I'm going crazy, need help with trans/gear ratio
Have you tried your tach settings in the other positions?
What’s your idle rpm? |

Re: I'm going crazy, need help with trans/gear ratio
I’m with geezer, at this point, might want to start checkin out that tach. But, your ear is probably pretty accurate too - ie obvious difference to the driver when at 3500 rpm as conpared to 2400-ish. Might be worth connecting a handheld tach, having someone in the truck holding rpm at around 2500 or so on the interior gauge and comparing that to the handheld.
Copy all on your previous post, sure sounds like you checked all the boxes when you installed the trans/rear as far as making sure the speedo was accurate and the gps has confirmed that. The plot thickens... |

Re: I'm going crazy, need help with trans/gear ratio
With that much indicated converter slippage it looks like the fluid would cook and if it's run through the radiator cooler it might make the engine run hotter too. Seems like.

Re: I'm going crazy, need help with trans/gear ratio
I have a separate cooler for the transmission but it doesn't have its own fan. I'm curious though, cause that's a Indian amount of slippage when the avg should be under 10%... seems unreal.

Re: I'm going crazy, need help with trans/gear ratio
Just finished reading thru this entire thread. My comment is if the only thing that changed is the torque converter and now the hwy rpm is way high, I would suspect the torque converter. Could be a bad one. Unfortunately the only way to be sure is change it out again.
