AS blowing at feet

hi all,

my ac works but air is cold only at your feet. I think it's the diverter. Any ideas to source parts for this?

Make sure the vacuum hose coming from the firewall is connected and not broken in the engine bay. You can take a hand vac pump and test it there to make sure you can get the vents to operate.

Check to see if this plastic hinge is broken. I have to replace mine every few years.

Looks like the hinge is bad. Where do you get a replacement?

Check out this thread, should have most of the info you need: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=460942

The white thing connects to the hot/cold door. I think your original problem is the defrost/heater flapper.

Justin, you're showing me the same image. Sorry, couldn't see it on my phone.

Re: AS blowing at feet

Part #3018715. Come in 5 packs from the GM dealer. There is a lot of pressure from the vacuum motor and they always seem to break in the same thin part of the plastic.

That would be a help. The plastic always breaks in the same spot. Its quite thin and over time the plastic likes to get brittle.

Re: AS blowing at feet

Unfortunately 3018715 is discontinued.

Once I get my hands on one of these I'll laser scan it and post it on thingiverse so it can be 3D printed in the future.

Any other ideas where to get one?

Classic Parts has them. I think I bought 3 of them when I needed one, but now I can't find the other two I did not use. Considering the high cost of shipping, it is best to buy more than one.

Re: AS blowing at feet

I found info on here about making one out of metal. I had a small scrap piece of u shaped aluminum and used a grinder, drill and file to make this one. Not pretty but does the job.
