Is the fan turning in the proper direction. Looks like fan in pic would need to turn counter clockwise.

I was curious about that as well. The best I understand the alternator pulls air from the rear through to the front and when mine is running I can't feel any air movement at all.

That billet fan is cute, but GM didn't use those. There is probably a reason, besides cheapness. AussieinNC has it right- more blades equal more cooling. But I still think that you ought to find somebody who has a similar setup and compare temperatures. I wouldn't dare lay my hand on an alternator on a running engine for more that an instant, and I think mine is only a 37 Amp job.
