Started working on the truck again
Or should I say started buying parts...
Concept Performance 8 bolt main block Mamo LS7 heads with upgraded exhaust valve and exhaust throat opened Yella Terra ultralight rockers Johnson limited travel Hydraulic lifters Dougherty Racing cam Putting and ARE drysump system on that I have Holley Dominator ECU with LS harness and 7" dash Trans I bought is used but it started as an ultimate Vasco but has a few extra upgrades making it more similar to their moster glide (opened it up to look it over, all checked out, clean bill of health) Ordering an Alston front end this week Thinking of going Callie's Billet crank Molnar rods CP bullet Pistons This will be forced air with some spray Will be updating chassis to a 7.50 cert Hope to have it going down a track before the end of the year.

Re: Started working on the truck again
I was glad to be able to help my friend Griffin over the last year. With him borrowing my chassis, his turbo motor bested my personal best by 0.13 (my 9.20 to his 9.07).
I feel he learned a lot in the 1 year he had my truck, so I am happy for that. I should have no issue taking back the record for my truck once we sort the new combo out. I am itching to get back in it and down the track!

Re: Started working on the truck again
7.50 CERT
That's what I'm talking about! Have you ordered your cert paper? I think there is almost 32 bars that need to be added to a 8.50 cert. Not that that's going to keep you from building it. With technology today lots of guys are maxing out the 8.50 cert real quick. 150mph a parachute is needed and that comes quick with power adders. I cant wait to see this build its going to be awesome. My good friend that races PU class with me ran a personal best @ 8.84 @ 151.6 6.0L twin turbo in his 64 short box. YOU GOT THIS!!!

Re: Started working on the truck again
I talked to my NHRA cert guy, I only have to add the hall and a few things for the 7.50 cert
If all goes well it will be blown and be able to make 1500hp at the crank. We are planning on adding a small stage of intercooling N20 My old motor has been sold and is going in another truck that should weigh similar to mine but has a TH400 in it. Will be interesting to see how it runs. I speculate it will go faster than I did.

Re: Started working on the truck again
That’s awesome. What 25.x cert are your going to get. I know there is a few based iin weight. one of the 25.x cert will only allow 4000lb vehicle to go 8.00
I’m sure you will be in the 3600lbs range then you be okay. So is this a roots 8/10-71 build? e85? Race gas with the N20 for-the inter cooler works great. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Started working on the truck again
I was 3,100lbs previously and hope the Alston front offsets the blower and it's accessories.
I can't talk about the blower yet as it's not released to the public. I will stay e85

Re: Started working on the truck again
How do you get access to stuff like that?? Are you doing the chassis work or farming it out?

Re: Started working on the truck again
Griffin has several sponsors which one is helping me out.
As far as chassis goes, a friend originally did mine and committed to doing the 7.50 update and helping get the front end in.

Very cool. If you are so inclined please post the chassis build pictures. I love that stuff.

Re: Started working on the truck again
nice looking block. if you don't mind sharing, I'd like to know how the clearances/main line work out, how much extra $$$ add up to making it to final assy.
I've been thru the LSx deal, ERL superdeck, and interested in how this compares. does it come w/ .842 or larger lifter bores ?

Re: Started working on the truck again
Positive displacement or centrifugal blower?
Haven’t chatted in a while, I finally made some passes. Horrible 60’s @ 2.6 and 8.8 @ 90mph with a garbage tune running way too fat. I was afraid I’d melt something.. 300# in the bed with 15 gallon cell full. Glad you’re back at it!

Re: Started working on the truck again
I’ve been off of here for a while. Had some crazy stuff going on in life. Good to see you getting it ready again. I have to freshen everything in mine. It sat two years without me being able to get to it. We had some crazy probate stuff going on that resulted in my truck being held prisoner! Good luck, I’ll be watching the build. Paul Baxter
