Re: 80 Scottsdale build

This past week has been very productive as c10sinthepark is right around the corner. I changed out the water pump that has been leaking for quite some time. Installed the new to me OEM hood with WamRods. Swapped out my generic LMC grille for a GM restoration parts 73-74 grille. Last I got a little nip & tuck on both bumpers. I’m very pleased with the results. Couldn’t have done it without all the help from my friends.

Everything looks nice, especially the bumpers. And the Grille looks good too, I like seeing the emblem on there.
The bumpers is always something I notice Chip Foose doing on that Overhaulin' Show. It's amazing how little things like that can make the vehicle look so much better.

Any advice on how you this? I just got my bumpers back from chrome and would like to do the same on my 77. I assume you slotted the left and right side brackets in the rear. For the front side brackets, you slotted the middle brackets and probably slotted and bent the side brackets?

Front frame horn was cut and reworded to shorten. Side brackets just drilled new holes further in the frame. Have to not the drivers side for steering gear clearance. Rear brackets shortened and others drilled further in.

Where did you buy the 73-74 grille from? I have yet to find anyone who still has the reproduction available.

This grille was purchased from KeyParts as a GM restoration part but has since be discontinued. I do not know of anyone that is making them at the moment.
