When I replaced the manifold gasket on my ‘67, a mechanic friend told me that I should be good for a few months. I didn’t like hearing that, but after stewing on it a few days I realized he was being honest...a 50 year old truck is gonna present the owner, over time, with problems that are age related...so I realized that every day that I drive the truck without any issues is a good thing - and when a new problem crops up (like the fuel pump suddenly developing a leak ) I get to fix it!
