adding upper/lower side trim after paint
What is involved with adding side moldings to an already painted truck?
The reason I ask is I may have found a truck but i like the moldings ,can it be done without causing future rust issues from drilling holes? |

maybe some two sided 3M tape would hold it on with out drilling holes.

I would prefer the tape over drilling. If you do drill, definitely put some paint on the bare metal and let it cure before putting the trim on.

Re: adding upper/lower side trim after paint
Just use the two sided 3M tape. I did that and it holds it perfectly fine. You have to double and triple it up in areas to bridge the gap between the back side of the molding and the body of the truck, but it is plenty strong to hold it and it looks great. Drilling is a pain in the rear and your truck doesn't like it.

This trim is just taped on... no drilling
