Heater Controls - What goes where?
Hey guys, just picked up a '68 C20 a few weeks ago in desperate need of some TLC. It's my first foray into something of this vintage so please excuse what may seem like a dumb question but my truck didn't have the heater Controls when I bought it. I picked up a control panel from a forum member and I yanked out the seat and scrubbed the cab floor in preparation for getting this heater control panel and cables installed. The problem is with no pre-existing control I'm not sure on the cable routing or even which lever is which function. Also, there is what I'm guessing is some kind of blower motor resistor? I snapped a photo for help identifying the mystery component.
I appreciate your help. |

Re: Heater Controls - What goes where?
Looks like your resistor is broken. It bolts in at the top of your ducting where that hole is and two 5/16 screws are. Looks like everything else is connected except the cable that is laying on the passenger floor pan in your second pic. That cable connects to the bottom of the ductwork where the lever with a peg is hanging. It is shown in your second pic as well. There is a tab just to the left of the peg where the cable screws to. LMC has some nice detailed pics if you need.

Re: Heater Controls - What goes where?
Yeah, as far as the Cabling I was just guessing with what I had and what seemed to make the most sense. I just couldn't figure out the routing for that lever on the bottom of the heater box and I was making guesses on which control they attached to. Where would I find LMCs diagrams? I've found the page with the cables but it doesn't show how they route.

I just looked on lmc as well and couldn't find it either. If I remember I thought I ran mine back behind the duct and then poked it out underneath. I could post a pic tom if you need.

Re: Heater Controls - What goes where?
Perfect, thanks! The one that swings back behind the heater box seems a little awkward but it works.
