Alternator bracket pics

If anybody has any pics of a stock passenger side alternator set up please post them. I have the front off my 79 and just got an engine installed. It has 882 heads I ported and has one hole in the passenger side head and a long pump. The previous engine had 461 heads with no holes so I was running homemade brackets. The power steering one is fine but the alternator bracket I built looks kind of stupid and I don’t want to use it unless I have to. I have a pile of brackets but it’s kind of hard to visualize how they work with no reference. Thanks.

Re: Alternator bracket pics

It does, thanks. Wish the fan was rotated just a little bit so I could see the lower better. But I can see the orientation and where the long bolt goes through to the bracket. The upper I’m going to use bolts to a boss in water pump and reaches back to a thermostat housing bolt. I now remember thinking when I bought the truck the lower set up was a cobbled together mess even by my low standards. I doubt I could duplicate it and probably shouldn’t.

Re: Alternator bracket pics

A problem I've had with this type mounting is the the long bolt will seize in the alternator hole.
Put some anti-seize on it!
Miike.

I've found a few with the sleeve firmly corroded to the bolt. It turns in the alternator casting but the sleeve doesn't move.

I live down here very close to the Gulf of Mexico. There's always a corrosion problem on my trucks.
Every bolt and nut I touch gets anti-seize!
Mike.

I'm just a little east of there and know those areas well!
I'm closer to the Escatawpa river here.
I have to keep a close watch on my pond for gators and been expecting them to move in on me.
Did you get one?
Mike.

Re: Alternator bracket pics

We caught three & threw them back waiting on their Mom & Dad to show up. Largest was 66". As of 9 PM last night it was still Gator Track Sandwich for him...
We spent a lot of time chasing a large one in the cut between west river & the marsh. Nephew said last weekend you could float up & pet them but they gun shy this weekend.

Yes,Bozo's is still going!
And,they've opened up a restaurant just west of the original store on Ingalls Ave.
I grew up in that part of town.Been going to Bozo's since 1965!
I was one of the first white guys that went to Carver High School.
