Damn windows

so I took my windows out today to see if I could put some tint on them. Taking them out was easy, they pretty much just fell apart. Tookem inside and put tint on but they had to many pitts and scrattches that it looked like crap. so I ripped the damn stuff of and decided to never do tinting myself again. Anyways...... I took the windows back out side to put them back on.....this is when the curse words start to fly.... I fooled around with the one for probly 30 mins before I had to stop and calm down. Another 30 mins and I finally got it in. Go to the other side..... and not a word of a lie.... have the second one in, in under 2 minutes. Its one of those thins that you have to learn the hard way before you remember how to do it

Why did you take the windows out? If you want tint, try it again! I did my 83 windows as a first attempt in an afternoon and they look professional. My biggest problem was dealing with the static cling, and keeping the prepared tint from sticking to itself or anything else. If you want to go again, dont bother taking the windows out, that would enrage anyone I'm sure!
I guess my tip (other than starting with a perfectly clean window), would be to pre cut the film to slightly larger than the window, (lay the film on the outside of the window -sticky side out but dont peel the layer off yet- and cut it to shape with a #11 xacto blade. Then move inside, spray the lubricant, and peel and stick the film. Work out the air bubbles from the inside out, and push the excess film under the window strips and weatherseal etc... Once you're done squeegieing the film, tightly run the xacto blade around the window corners and sides to remove any excess and gain a perfect edge. This worked for me, and like I said, you could mistake it for a professional job. Try it again! Beats spending $300 for a pro job!

Yeah, its friggen ridiculous to get them tinted proffesionally, The way my windows are now... they are the original ones and heve quite a few scratches on them so it didn't look good at all. I tookem out beacuse It was my first time and I already had the door panels off anyway. I thought about it and decided not to tint because it will just be another reason for cops to stop me.( I don't want to know what they'll say if they see I'm driving with no side mirrors and taillights barely 16" off theh ground)
