1970 250 I6 oil temp sensor
Just purchased a truck very similar to my truck in high school. 1970 GMC SWB stepside. I am newby basic tech. The truck had the basic dash cluster and I am in process of upgrading to Classic Instruments full gauge dash panel. I have been able to figure out all sensors except one, Classic has provided a engine temp sensor that they say should be mounted in the intake manifold. It is large and I cannot find where it would go. Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: 1970 250 I6 oil temp sensor
It’s not oil temperature, it’s coolant temperature you’re hooking up.
Your 250 doesn’t have any coolant in the intake. Those instructions are for a v8. Your sensor goes into the thermostat housing on the front of the motor. |

On my '68 292 L6, the Temp probe is in the left side of the head.
It's between Intake ports #1-2 and Exhaust port #2.
