What are these holes for?
I was planning my attack on the 54 cab today and noticed the following holes.
![]() The hole in the track of the weather-strip channel is a mystery. Also, what did they cover the pillar with, there is a large hole where the sheets of metal don't meet just to the right of the hole in the channel. ![]() ![]() These holes are just under the back window, 2 on each end and 2 in the middle. What are they for? ![]() ![]() There are 3 holes over the front window, one each, just inside the sun visor mounts and then one in the middle. What are these for? Thanks. |

Re: What are these holes for?
The holes in the front panel over the windshield are probably for the welding jig that the part sat in when it was welded up as all three cabs I could see that area in have them in them.
The ones in the back Probably were added to hold something like a gun rack or other piece behind the seat. If memory serves right my ex step father had a shelf/open top box made that sat behind the seat and stuck out over the back a bit (4 or so inches) that he would stick blueprints and other things in so they didn't clutter up the seat, It sure was hard when you forgot and leaned your head back too fast though. I can't remember if the box was wood or formed out of sheet metal but think it was formed out of metal by a buddy of his who owned a sheet metal shop and sheet metal fabricating for him.

Re: What are these holes for?
Thanks.
How do the holes over the front windshield get covered up? I bought my truck in pieces, so I just don't know what was there. |

Re: What are these holes for?
From the pics I see I'm not the only 54 owner with multiple holes from visors. I have the same holes as yours behind the seat and think they are assembly holes.

Re: What are these holes for?
Those back ones could be factory holes for an assembly jig .

Re: What are these holes for?
Does the headliner cover the holes over the front windshield?
