Need you experts to help ID please
I have spent hours trying to photo match this hood ornament to 47-59 Chevrolet trucks, station wagons and COE trucks with no luck. The only part number or marking is G. M. C-4. I find ones similar in looks but not a match with the four little indentations on each side of the emblem. If you have the time I would love some suggestions. Thanks in advance. Its length is 19 1/4" by 3".

Looks like it is for the trunk of a car but I don't recognize it.

It's a 1951 Chevy car trunk lid piece. The black squares go to the top against the trunk lid and there is a space for your fingers under the bottom. The key slot was directly under it. Some had the word "POWER GLIDE" directly on top of of that piece.

One of those things you know full and well you have seen before but can't remember where.
In that condition I'd make a wall hanger out of it maybe having it over a mirror or dry erase or chalk board.
