67 Vent window issue...
When I bought my 67 GMC I noticed that BOTH vent window frames were intact, but the windows themselves were plexiglass. I figured that over the years the former owner(s) had somehow broken them and replaced them with plexiglass.
Well, I bought a very nice used set of 67 vent windows, and when they arrived one of them had separated from its frame even though they were packaged very securely. This got me to wondering if there is an issue with whatever holds these 67 glass pieces in their frames somehow deteriorating over the years and the glass falling out. Anyone else have this issue? And what type of adhesive should be used to repair it? I sure am glad this happened in postal transit to my house instead of after I installed them!

Re: 67 Vent window issue...
If nothing else check a windshield shop. There is one here that actually manufactures glass windows for classics. They were the ones to put my vents together. So I'll bet a good shop would fix them for a reasonable fee. If not you might be able to pick their brain for the best method or adhesive to use.

Re: 67 Vent window issue...
The windows have a rubber tape that holds them in. I think its called window setting tape. All it is, is a rubber gasket that you can get in different thickness and about 1 1/2 wide. When I did mine I just went to a glass shop and he just gave me some of the different one's available.
Ha found a picture. http://www.classictruck.com/product/...SABEgJjYPD_BwE

Re: 67 Vent window issue...
Thank you both for this advice!! I had no idea that tape existed. The old glass-setting tape must have deteriorated away.
