71 K10 Installing Power Steering
I just bought my 71 K10 a month ago and this truck is my chance to learn mechanics. My first project will be putting in power steering (have to start somewhere right). Can someone list all the parts I will need to buy or at least know if I need a new pitman arm? (I am looking to keep it pretty well stock)
Thanks! |

Re: 71 K10 Installing Power Steering
A lot of people install this box: Cardone 27-7501 If you have a manual box now you will not have a core. Most core cost are about $75.00 I just googled the Cardone 27-7501 and I bought one from walmart.com for $118.00 with no core needed. I installed it last week. I was just replacing a bad box so I had everything else.

Re: 71 K10 Installing Power Steering
Not the expert on this but getting correct crank shaft engine pulley, and power steering box to match is tough, a donor truck with matching pieces would be ideal. ..good luck....and Welcome aboard.....photo is 71 C10

Re: 71 K10 Installing Power Steering
I agree, the pulleys are the hard part, donor truck would be the best way, but hard to find
