Hidden gas filler
I saw pictures some where of a hidden gas filler in the side marker light or behind the rest tail light (i.e shoebox chevys) I'm having trouble with the search feature. is there a how to anywhere how these was done. Also how hard is it to install multiple fuel tanks. my is not behind the rear seat anymore because of custom cab.. ALso I plan on getting a a actual long bed not the weird bed on mine now.

The side marker light filler is commonly done using the hinge from a gas filler door. On a fleetside bed it apparantly requires some nodding to the inside of the bed.

There are a few ways to plumb them, manual selector valves, electric selector valves. I’ve been toying with the idea of a pair of custom tanks under the front of the bed using the stock cab mounted filler and C5 corvette hardware to control the levels and fuel gauge since they use dual fuel tanks as well. Or more likely just run lines inside a driveshaft loop and let gravity equalize the levels so I’d still need only 1 sender and fuel pump. Cool truck! I’m not in love with the bed either. I can tell they shortened the rear of the bed but is the front of the bed short or long wheelbase? |
