long step bed
i was wondering how hard it is to find a decent long step bed for my truck, and i need to know how wide they are, i currently have a flatbed on my truck but it is very unpractical for me though i do like it, it weighs a ton( not literally) and i have to strap everything down to it, i have always had a thing for stepside trucks so i am wanting to put one on my truck, but i do need to know how wide it is so i can make sure my toolbox will fit in it before i get one.

No wider than 49 1/2" inside the bed. I putting one on my Chevy. I also took off a flat bed and believe it did way 1 ton!

1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs 1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX 1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears 1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now..... 1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

Finding a long step may prove more difficult than one would think. You may end up driving some miles for this one.

I know of one in Amarillo TX. Not positive on its shape though. When I get home I can find out for you.

i am aware of it being somewhat difficult to find one that is why i am in no hurry at all for this

would it work if i used a later model bed and modified it to use our fenders, it seems as it would, what do you guys think because i have a 76 long stepper sitting around on our farm that has not run in years
