Not today, but got the truck fired up after installing a Sniper. Gotta get it tuned now.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Finally bought the Finned Valve covers I’ve been wanting to get for a while.
I actually went right to the Summit store in Arlington Tx, while I was visiting my son (he’s stationed at Ft Hood) to get them.
I’m proud to say I got out of there spending less than $400.
I also redid the lettering and bow tie on the breather cover and valve cover breather, to be more “Color correct” for the year.
They used to be the newer “Chevy Red”, but the color always “didn’t look right” for my liking.

I like your valve covers.
I have been wanting to get a long, finned, cast-aluminum L6 Valve Cover for my 292. But they're very hard to find and expensive if you do. I did respray my current valver cover in Cast Iron Grey to see if I liked the look. It does look OK, but I might go back to Chevy Engine Orange next time.

Quality Builds...a buddy of mine put a Blueprint SBF 347 Stroker in his 68 Mustang California Special runs/accelerates like a missile.

You will be happy and good luck on the install.

That's no laughing matter for sure! What have they done to us?
I don't know how legit it was, but I saw someone selling a gallon of DP50 epoxy primer w/activator for a mere $800 ......
I see this stuff listed for around $500 pretty regularly now. I remember when it sold for $50 a gallon and we all thought that was high.

Paid $200 for a 60Gal 5HP compressor...
so if I tell the wife that I saved 1300 that way...
then I might just be able buy 2 gallons of primer and a gallon of base for that ;-)

Think I've finally found a compressor I can afford that will drive the GPG sprayer and repaint this beast

Today I finished bolting in my rebuilt disk axle. New brake lines are in place and all I need to do is sort out installing the booster...with brackets I don't have yet but it looks like I can get from the parts board.

Changed the lower trim from black to the exact same wood grain as my bed floor.
Also grew a pair and drilled a couple holes to finally mount the engine badges.
