I ran up to the Pick-A-Part in Knoxville and picked me up a set of Honda Accord door weather strip to try. For less than $20 I have new weather strip for the truck. Now, I need every other piece for the truck!! Lol!

Also, after reading one of the thread about VIN being on the frame I had to check mine just to be sure. Yes, the VIN plate and the frame match. Another plus on the day for my truck.

Finally bought the Finned Valve covers I’ve been wanting to get for a while.
I actually went right to the Summit store in Arlington Tx, while I was visiting my son (he’s stationed at Ft Hood) to get them.
I’m proud to say I got out of there spending less than $400.
I also redid the lettering and bow tie on the breather cover and valve cover breather, to be more “Color correct” for the year.
They used to be the newer “Chevy Red”, but the color always “didn’t look right” for my liking.

I like your valve covers.
I have been wanting to get a long, finned, cast-aluminum L6 Valve Cover for my 292. But they're very hard to find and expensive if you do. I did respray my current valver cover in Cast Iron Grey to see if I liked the look. It does look OK, but I might go back to Chevy Engine Orange next time.

Indeed. I was looking at the 454s, but I don't need that kind of performance (said no guy ever). One of my sons drives it sometimes, and would probably keep his foot out of it now that he's older, but he really enjoyed playing with people when driving my '68 Skylark GS.

Just got a text from R&L carriers the engine is scheduled to be delivered on Friday . Guess I need to order the torque converter tomorrow . They have a two week lead time but it’s not a problem since I haven’t even started to take out the old engine .

Quality Builds...a buddy of mine put a Blueprint SBF 347 Stroker in his 68 Mustang California Special runs/accelerates like a missile.
