New Owner - 1964 GMC SWB
New owner here with a nice little 1964 GMC. I’m a 35 year old father of four 6 and under (2 sets of twins) so this is exactly what we needed, another project. Happened to come across this a few miles from our house and had to have it, didn’t even negotiate the price. It’s an all original 6 cylinder with 3 speed on the tree. Has a Dana 44 with a 3.54 open gear. Bed wood was replaced with a metal bed and color matched rhino lined.
We love it. As you can see it fits well in the garage with my 1965 Chevelle project. It’s LS swapped and loud and fast, almost the opposite of the green truck. I’ve also got a 99 Silverado LS SWB that’s lowered and setup pretty nice. 5 GM vehicles in my driveway now... So far the forum has been helpful. Hopefully someday I’ll have something to contribute. At some point it will get a smaller stock type LS swap (4.8/5.3) and 4L60e just to make it a little easier/convienient to drive. Then I’d like to add disc brakes and bag it. Rear will need a 4 Link conversion because it has leaf springs. I wouldn’t do much beyond that. Still want to grab mulch and flowers in it. Chevelle is a driver now, but still has a long way to go. It has a 500hp LQ9 w/ LS3 heads and a cam in it through a built 4L65e and factory 12 bolt posi. Fun and loud. Video of Chevelle https://youtu.be/5eUL2wljtKo 99 Silverado was my latest build and I’ll just keep it as it is. 4/6 drop 4.8LS, HD conversion, C5 door handles, LTZ wheels.
