I feel the magnet will get stuck to the first thing it contacts, probably the side of the cavity.

My fenders are not on yet, so I will go at it from the engine bay side.

The extra bolt May contact the hinge itself, but I think if I make the plate large enough that just might work. I’ll check measurements tomorrow when I get to working on it again.
