Brake Pedal Play

I installed a booster last weekend. I noticed tonight that there is about 1/4 - 1/2 inch of play in the pedal before the brakes engage. What is the best way to adjust this out?

Thanks

if you remove the master cylinder and pull out the push rod, you'll see one end unscrews. Unscrew that end to make it longer.
You MUST have some free travel in your pedal when you are done, too much is better than too little. If you over adjust it, your brakes will apply as the heat builds up.
I wore off 1/2 the life of my new brakes on the old longhorn learning this.
