Shipping Help?
Hey folks, I recently purchased a 68 Suburban at a pretty good price, but have one problem....its in Las Cruces, NM and I'm in Los Angeles, CA.
The biggest issue I have is that the truck isn't in a place where a large hauler can access it (and it doesn't run) so I need to figure out a solution. Anyone have ideas or know someone that can help me get sorted? Thanks!

Re: Shipping Help?
Hire a towing company to get it to the big truck.

Re: Shipping Help?
If you have a good tow rig rent a trailer and bring a come-along. It would be a nice trip this time of year.
It may be pretty expensive otherwise.

Re: Shipping Help?
There wasn't much cost savings when I priced everything out for renting a trailer and towing it myself, didn't seem to be worth the headache.
Towing it to the big rig is an option, but would have to figure out how that would work. Maybe there's a nearby terminal or something? Otherwise, not sure how to time things up. Thanks for the offer! I'll shoot you a PM

Re: Shipping Help?
Possibly a body shop with a roll back, and a fenced in area to lock it up if it needs to stay overnight.

Re: Shipping Help?
Thanks for the referral! I tried the number, but it says "the number is not reachable" and then hangs up. Can you check to make sure it's correct?

Re: Shipping Help?
I used uShip.com to find a guy with a rollback that would go out onto the farm and rescue a barn find for me... worked out well.

Re: Shipping Help?
I'll second the U-ship option. It worked well for me having trucks picked up in CA and delivered to NV. For the record, I ended up using a company called "Platinum Shipping", very professional and timely, no issues at all.

Re: Shipping Help?
A tow company could take it to their yard and the shipper could pick up from there.
