I'm probably not much help, but I'd start with that replaced wire and then check all connections and cables, along with the battery. Good luck!

I had the same problem last weekend while I was towing. I blamed my 10 month old Hi-torque mini starter. Replaced the starter, and had the same problem! I turned out to be a bad battery! My mini-starter is back in and doin' fine with my new Interstate battery!

Sounds like batt. Put a digital volt meter on the battery and measure voltage while cranking engine over. If i drops below 10 volts, your battery is whacked. My truck will still start with a dead cell in the batt and the CVR mini starter, but not a change in Hell that a GM starter will.

He told me on MSN, that the battery only had 8 volts, while on the charger, I think we've figured out his problem, hopefully.

It was a combination battery and the wire from the remote siliniod o the starter grounding out( coating melted) got it goin good now, drove it 150-160 miles today/night :-) got 7 or 8 MPG with that 454/TH350 pullin the flat bed with the camaro :-) rides SMOOTH
