headers for big blocks

Anybody with a big block running headers?

I am about to purchase a set of marine big blocks. I know it will bolt right in but the exhaust may pose a challenge. Any suggestions for headers?

Truck is an 87 short bed, lowered, with a SBC and muncie m20.

Thanks

Re: headers for big blocks

I've had the same set of Hedman headers in my BB for well over 25 years with absolutely no issues. Installation was a snap and maintenance has been zero.

I also have headman’s, actually have 2 sets on two differnt big block trucks. I wouldn’t use any other brand.

Re: headers for big blocks

I bought a used set of Doug Thorley Tri-Ys off of eBay 8 years ago for my C20 454. They've worked great for years, no issues whatsoever. I just welded bungs in them and sandblasted them down to bare metal to recoat them for my 8.1L swap. Date code on them was May 1992. That's impressive for a header, especially one that's been treated the way these have for the last decade. There's some pitting, but nothing that won't last for years more service. Advantage: 14 gauge header tubes.

Added benefit, they have great clearance all the way around even with a manual trans.
