It would really be best to measure. Your tire size could be different than someone else's.
I have an explorer axle, 20x8.5" wheels and use 1" adapters. It leaves a 1/2" of clearance on either side of the tire. I would also highly recommend using hub centric adapters. You can get them custom made to fit the axle and the bore of your wheels. https://www.uswheeladapters.com/
